Dominik has been working as an athletic and rehabilitation trainer with aspiring and established professional footballers for over 15 years. In addition to his work for Hannover 96, he was part of world champion coach Christian Wück's coaching team for the German Football Association's junior national teams, where he worked with players such as Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala.
Prior to that, he spent eight years as an athletic and rehabilitation trainer in the German Handball Bundesliga: from 2011 to 2013 for MT Melsungen and from 2013 to 2019 for TSV Hannover Burgdorf. The players he has coached include Bundesliga footballers and handball players, among them Olympic champions, world champions and European champions.
Through extensive further training, he has become one of the leading experts in athletics and neuroathletic training in Germany. In addition to studying sports and business administration in Germany, he was one of the first Germans to complete the Zhealth Curriculum in Applied Pain and Performance Neurology with Dr Eric Cobb from the USA and the Diploma in Performance Nutrition at the International Institute of Performance Nutrition in England.
He is the initiator and content developer of the ‘Prevention Management Tool’ (PMT) software for stress and strain management for team athletes in Germany, which he launched in 2014 as the ‘Athletics Connect’ software together with the development team at Zinkler & Brandes and transferred to the ‘PMT’ in 2019 with and for the
Administrative Professional Association.
Dominik is an early adopter of developments in the field of prevention, therapy and training and a creative practitioner with vision.
In 2016, he wrote the book ‘Therapy and Training with the Floss Band’, a mobility and therapy concept with screening tests that goes far beyond the application of a tool. In 2020, he won the German Prevention Prize for Sport in the Sustainability category with Hannover 96 GmbH & Co KGaA for the development of the ‘Neurological Prevention Algorithm’.
In 2021, during the pandemic, he teamed up with the MOJO Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Dr Gerrit Keferstein to focus on neuroimmunology and created an online training course to become an Immune Signature Coach, to educate people about the links between energy metabolism and the immune system and inspire them to improve their health and performance. In 2024, he published the book Neurozentriertes Training in der Sportphysiotherapie (Neurocentric Training in Sports Physiotherapy) together with his colleagues Daniel Müller, Kevin Grafen and Dirk Schauenberg.
